Simply Waste Solutions Expands Into Oxfordshire [UPDATED]

Simply Waste Solutions has further increased it geographical footprint by acquiring the wheeled-bin waste collection services of Oxfordshire-based M&M Waste Solutions.

The deal will also provide Simply Waste Solutions with access to an additional transport yard, waste transfer station and Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) in Cassington, close to the city of Oxford, and from where it anticipates to grow its customer base further.

Commenting on the acquisition, James Capel, Simply Waste Solutions’ CEO and Founder said: “Over the last decade, Simply Waste Solutions has built a solid reputation throughout London and the Thames Valley, and so this acquisition fits perfectly with our expansion strategy as we aim to grow our reach and customer base.

“Having last year acquired Wycombe Trade Waste, in Buckinghamshire, our fleet of 50 vehicles is now able to service the the South East and all of the Home Counties”.

M&M Waste Solutions’ roots go back to 1972 when, initially operating out of Witney, the company relocated to its current base in Cassington in the early nineties, with its own Waste Transfer Station and licensed Materials Recycling Facility (MRF).

The company’s primary focus over the last few years has shifted more towards offering waste solutions along with the core skip hire and recycling business.

“Our company has built an enviable reputation throughout Oxfordshire over the last fourty years and so it was vitally important for us that, whoever bought our wheeled-bin waste collection business, also shared our same philosophy in delivering the very highest service levels,”, commented Rob Fluckiger, MD of M&M Waste Solutions.

“It is, therefore, extremely re-assuring that we have chosen a company that will carry on our good work, but also has the capability of providing our many loyal wheeled-bin customers with a wide range of collection and recycling services. With the current expansion of M&M Waste Solutions we found it necessary to move away from wheeled-bin collections to allow the business to focus on skip hire and waste recycling”, added Rob.

From very humble beginnings a decade ago, Simply Waste Solutions has grown from a 2 truck start up into a company that makes over one million customer collections a

year, has an annual turnover over £30m, a fleet of over 50 vehicles and now more than 150 employees, with a Head Office located in High Wycombe, Bucks, and state-of-the-art logistics and waste transfer stations in Wycombe and Heathrow.

[UPDATED 15:48]

The headline of this story has been updated to clarify that M&M Waste Solutions has not been wholly acquired by Simply Waste Solutions, and that it has only acquired the wheeled-bin waste collection services part of the company. Apologies if this caused any confusion.
